Endodontics is that branch of dentistry, it involves the study and practice of the basic and clinical sciences of the morphology, physiology, and pathology of the human tooth, dental pulp, and adjacent tissue. The pulp comprises nerves, blood vessels, and connective soft tissue. The study and practice of endodontics include the biology of the normal pulp, crown, root and peri-radicular tissues and the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and injuries that affect these tissues.
Root canal therapy is the most common technique done by an endodontist to remove the infected pulp and nerves from the tooth’s root canal.
